Philip Smith’s eye for style is inherent, but he’s spent a lifetime perfecting his creative design process.
He was formally educated at the Savanah College of Art & Design and worked for design firms on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and in Baltimore for seven years. In 2013, he traveled to Spain, a playground for the contemporary imagination. There, he absorbed the country’s beauty and grit and embarked on his own, creating a body of work that immersed him in the world (rather than behind a desk). He translated Spain’s ease of life into his own aesthetic.
Philip's artistic vision begins and ends with people – their quirks, their favorite memories, their habits. Philip employs fundamentals of classic and modern forms with fresh ideas and consistently finds the lives of his clientele woven into the design of their space. He believes that where you live, should inspire and correlate to how you live. His creative process is a collaboration and a means to an end for his clientele to discover they are people who know what they want.
Philip splits his time between Baltimore City, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. When he's not designing homes he can be found volunteering for local artist communities and training for any number of running events each year.
